Ecco un interessante report inerente una sessione tenuta da Herb Sutter ad OOPSLA la più importante conferenza worldwide dedicata alla object orientation tout court. Herb è chairman del comitato ISO per C++, nonchè architetto del compilatore C++ (tra poco, grazie al Cielo, C++/CLI) in Microsoft. Il report è una lettura breve ma interessante, vi cito una frase che a me è piaciuta molto:
"The death of Fortran and C++ are predicted every year. But C++ is still the dominant language. It's good at solving important problems."
Beh... Anche se non sappiamo quale sia il linguaggio del futuro, avere sotto i piedi un runtime standard ISO e language-agnostic come il CLR fa sperare che qualcuno crei un compilatore apposito :-)
