Ho scaricato la CTP di giugno di WinFX (ooops: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 - June 2006 CTP) e ho avuto vari problemi perchè il download da setup non funzionava (si bloccava durante il download dei files). Siccome pare proprio che non sia l'unico ad avere questo problema, nella stessa pagina di download trovate il seguente workaround:
"If you have troubles with the download manager, you can download the entire package for x86 or for x64 which are both .EXE files."
Downloadato e installato!
Ora però sono alle prese col download del Windows SDK for .NET Framework 3.0 June CTP che (accidenti!) rimanda ad una pagina mancante.
Se cerco il Windows SDK per il .NET Framework 3.0 da altra via, ad esempio da http://www.netfx3.com/ arrivo alla pagina di download di
Microsoft® Windows® Software Development Kit (SDK) for Beta 2 of Windows Vista and WinFX Runtime Components dove tra le altre cose c'è scritto:
System Requirements
- The WinFX components of the SDK are designed to work on the Beta 2 release of Windows Vista, on Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server SP1 with the WinFX Runtime Components Beta 2 installed. If you do not have the WinFX components installed, some samples, tools and other SDK functionality may not work properly.
peccato che proprio nel readme della pagina di download di Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 - June 2006 CTP sia scritto chiaro e tondo:
Compatability with Windows Vista Beta2
This CTP (Community Tech Preview) is intended for users of Windows Vista build 5456, Windows XP, or Windows 2003 Server. It is not supported for users running the Windows Vista Beta 2 for .NET Framework 3.0 development. If you are using Windows Vista Beta 2 for .NET Framework 3.0 development, we recommend that you do not install this version of the CTP and instead use the Beta 2 release. The .NET Framework 3.0 June CTP runtime is a later version than the one that ships with Windows Vista Beta 2, and code that uses the .NET Framework 3.0 Beta2 will not work with this CTP.
Quindi temo (e forse sono troppo prudente e mi sbaglio) che il Windows SDK disponibile non sia quello giusto per il .NET Framework 3.0 June CTP.
Chi ne sa qualcosa batta un colpo!
