L'evento è venerdi e sabato, ma non credo di riuscire a bloggare qualcosa fino a lunedì... Spero che quello che verrà detto non sia sotto NDA, in modo da poterlo riportare.

Sono molto contento di partecipare ad un evento del genere.

Assieme a me verrà Gerardo, che vedrò domani sera al ritorno da una giornata in città a trovare degli amici. Il programma è molto interessante, con sessioni su IE7, Windows Live, Design e nuova UI, Deployment, WCF, WinFX, Office 12, Security, Side Show e MicroFramework...

Se non riuscirò a bloggarlo in diretta, sfrutterò la funzione di salvataggio in locale dei post di IMHO...

Here are again some numbers (May 2006) for INETA Europe: 250 User Groups with 80.000 Developers in 33 Countries - 48 User Groups in Germany, 30 User Groups in Russia, 25 User Groups in the UK and 24 in Poland... 20.000 Developers and a biggest User Group in Italy (again UGiDotNet) and 15.000 Developers and a second largest User Group (VBUG) in the UK, followed by (believe it or not) Denmark and on the 4^th place Germany. Considering the size of the country, danish INETA Community really rocks!

Che siano di Virtual PC o di Virtual Server, spegnete sempre tutte le VM, sia di VPC sia di VS (anche se state aggiornando l'altro prodotto...).

Ogni volta ci ricasco... che somaro!!!

Alcuni componenti delle due applicazioni sono condivisi, e quindi le VM in saved state corrono il rischio di trovarsi con un errore irrecuperabile sul processore, seguito da un bel reset...

Durante le varie giornate ci saranno anche molti esercizi, e quindi sto preparando una nuova VM con tutto il necessario.

In attesa che esca quella "ufficiale" su MSDN Subscriptions...

Allora... Win2003Sp1, WSS 2.0, SQL 2005, TFS 1.0, VS2005 Team Suite, Office Pro, Project Pro...

Direi che c'è tutto il necessario... quasi quasi ci metto anche TeamPlain...

Domani terrò in Microsoft una giornata dedicata a VSTS Architect.

In particolare parleremo di:

• System Definition Model e Dynamic Systems Initiative
• Distributed System Designers (application, system, logical datacenter, deployment)
• Reporting e validazione dei modelli
• Introduzione ai Domain Specific Language e al Model Driven Development

La partecipazione all'evento è strettamente su invito, ma per questa edizione sono riuscito a invitare anche delle persone di UGIdotNET, sperando di poterlo replicare anche per le prossime edizioni.

Chi sono i fortunati? Beh... dovete aspettare fino a domani...

Su una partizione secondaria.

Non mi ha fatto nessun danno, ed è anche molto meglio delle build precedenti.

Non capisco perchè al boot non mi faccia selezionare la tastiera italiana (nel setup e nelle fasi successive si...), e sono stato attento a non cambiare il fuso orario di default nell'installazione, se no faceva casino, l'ho cambiato dopo.

Per il resto tutto ok, a parte che non riesco a disabilitare il click col tocco sul touchpad (e i driver della synaptics non li trovo...)

Per ora però non diventa il mio sistema principale... non ci sono i driver della scheda della 3 (neanche per XP x64)...

Partendo da questo post Swarm: where is the IE add-on? ho scoperto dell'esistenza di Swarm.

Cos'è Swarm? Ecco la descrizione ufficiale:

Swarm is a graphical map of hundreds of websites, all connecting to each other. It updates itself every second with where people are going and coming from. As sites become more popular, they move towards the center of the swarm and grow larger. Conversely, sites that lose traffic move away from the center and grow smaller.

Website traffic is symbolized with thin lines. Each time you see a line appear, it means someone has moved from one site to the other. You can gauge how many people are swarming around based on the number of lines.

Al momento viene popolato dagli utenti Firefox che installano l'apposita toolbar, ma si spera che sarà disponibile anche per IE.

Che dire... al momento vedo centinaia di pagine Google aperte e altrettanti siti per adulti, ma ci sono anche chicche imperdibili.

Mi sento un po' come in Matrix, ma al posto di vedere caratteri verdi che scrollano, vedo i siti che la gente ha aperto ora sul proprio PC, tutti insieme appassionatamente, con anche i link in tempo reale.

Chissà cosa ne verrà fuori...

Non vedo l'ora... quella vecchia (B3Refresh) ormai è scaduta... e per fare le demo non posso mica usare il server vero...

Microsoft "eats its own dog food", which means it deploys early builds of its software internally to ensure the products are thoroughly tested in a real world environment.

Currently, the majority of Microsoft's employees enjoy full admin rights on their desktop PCs, which is an unusual practice in the enterprise space as it makes possible for users to install unauthorised software and introduce unwanted pests -- such as spyware.

Notably, over the past decade UML has been the de facto standard for software modeling. The base constructs of the UML meta-model, such as classes, association, generalization, and so on, have little semantic meaning. Thus, in order to interpret and perform meaningful computations on a model the base constructs must be extended with domain-specific information. This approach provides the necessary semantic meaning and the constraints necessary to support meaningful automated code generation. The Domain Concept editor in the Domain Specific Languages Tools supports a UML-like notation that allows a software architect to perform this task by defining the domain-specific concepts, their attributes, and relationships between them. The domain model is persisted in an XML format. The domain model is used to generate a domain-specific API and to extend the Visual Studio development environment with the custom designer. This approach allows a software architect to create reusable domain-specific languages that can capture reusable analysis patterns and standards, such as the Healthcare HL7 standard, Sarbanes Oxley, and so on.

In questa pagina di CodePlex trovate il download della versione standalone del Team Explorer, che trovate anche sul CD del Team Foundation Server (di cui è disponibile per tutti anche la trial 180gg).

Questo per accedere in maniera integrata a CodePlex dal Visual Studio 2005 (qualsiasi versione) o in maniera stand-alone.

Per accedere a CodePlex (o a qualsiasi altro TFS) in maniera integrata da VS6, 2002, 2003, etc... dovete installare l'MSSCCI Provider oltre al Team Explorer (vedi apposito webcast...)

Intanto ho chiesto di poter creare un progetto... vediamo se me lo approvano...

Beh... in verità è firmato Jeffrey Palermo MCSD.NET... ma se lo mettevo nel titolo mi ritrovavo pieno di commenti sulle certificazioni... LOL

Comunque lo trovate qui. Che dire... è veramente essenziale, ma fatto bene.

Avrei però preferito che scendesse un po' più nel pratico...
