"Write Less, Do More": questo è quello che promette - e mantiene - jQuery, il framework Javascript che con soli 20kb di codice ha rivoluzionato il mondo dello sviluppo web.
Usata estesamente da Google, alla base delle piattaforme future di Nokia, supportata ufficialmente da Microsoft in Visual Studio 2008: jQuery in poche parole "is here to stay".
In questo workshop ci proponiamo di presentare ed approfondire le potenzialità di questa libreria nell'uso con ASP.NET e ASP.NET MVC.
jQuery ha già cambiato il modo in cui si scrive Javascript: cercheremo di suggerirvi come utilizzarla per cambiare il vostro approccio allo sviluppo web in .NET.

14:45	Introduzione a jQuery - Diego Guidi e Roberto Sileoni "It's all about simplicity": perchè le applicazioni basate su Javascript sono spesso complesse, farraginose e difficilmente manutenibili quando è possibile renderle semplici, eleganti e funzionali? In questa sessione a quattro mani vedremo per prima cosa come sfruttare Javascript al meglio, utilizzando i prototipi, i namespaces, gli oggetti, gli eventi, le chiusure e le altre mille funzionalità di un linguaggio di programmazione troppo spesso sottovalutato. Ci soffermeremo poi su jQuery per analizzare il suo contributo nel semplificare task normalmente tediosi come la manipolazione del DOM, la gestione degli eventi, la programmazione asincrona (AJAX) e le problematiche di compatibilità cross-browser.
16:00	jQuery on top of ASP.NET - Gian Maria Ricci In questa sessione verranno mostrati alcuni esempi su come, tramite jQuery, sia possibile migliorare una applicazione ASP.NET esistente con l'introduzione di funzionalità lato client. Lo scopo finale è quello di intervenire nei punti più critici dell'applicazione nel modo meno "intrusivo" possibile, senza quindi stravolgere il codice già scritto.
17:15	jQuery 2TheMax - Andrea Balducci In questa sessione introdurremo alcuni plugin di uso comune che semplificano il processo di sviluppo: form, validation, grid, client-side template, autocomplete. Verranno analizzate soluzioni di ottimizzazione delle applicazioni sfruttando Asp.Net MVC per la creazione di servizi JSON e jQuery al fine di massimizzare la velocità di risposta della pagina, diminuendo contestualmente il carico di lavoro lato server. Infine, con un occhio particolare rivolto all'interfaccia utente verrà introdotto il framework jQuery.UI.
